When a user draws a one-line diagram and after entering all the component parameters, a mode analysis can be performed. Currently, the program supports the following calculations:
Newton – Raphson method - best used for liquid-state fluid calculations;
Gas flows - used when the substance is gaseous;
Depending on loads in the one-line diagram (static or dynamic), the calculations will be performed differently. If static loads are calculated, the calculations are performed only once and the results are displayed both in the working environment and in the summary.
However, if there is at least one dynamic load in the scheme, the algorithm repeats the calculatons for every time-point available (time points are defined in 5.6. Load). In this case the last iteration calculation resuls are shown (in the main work space and summary) and by putting mouse cursor on the element, the program displays the time dependent calculation results of the hovered item. This graph can also be found in the summary which titled "Dynamic calculation results".
Currently, not all algorithms support all elements of the scheme in the EA-PSM Hydraulics. Components of the one-line diagram, which are not supported by different calculations, are mentioned in the description of each calculation method. If it happens, that the scheme has unsupported elements, the program will disconnect them and inform the user of this.
For various materials all EA-PSM Hydraulics calculations use CoolProp open source library.
