The main connecting element is pipe. In the pipe properties window „General“ tab the user can enter the name and description of the pipe.
In the “Material“ tab, user can define what type of fluid flows in the system. If the user changes fluid in one branch (pipe), it will be updated automatically in other branches.
The main pipe parameters is defined in in „Pipe“ tab. ( Figure 4.4). Here user must enter length, inside diameter, surface roughness and pipe efficiency.
If the standard type of pipe is known, the inside diameter field will be filled automatically when this type of pipe is selected. Otherwise, the user must enter it manually.
If the standard type of surface is known, the surface roughness field will be filled automatically when this type of surface is selected. Otherwise, the user must enter it manually.
If all components of pipe are entered, this branch will be modelling such as component, then all parameters entered in tab will be ignored.
In tab "Pipe components" the user can model components, such as elbows or unions. For this, user must enter diameter of the component and to choose standard component type. If the type is not known or standard, dynamic losses factor (defined by hand) can be used instead. This factor user can find dictionaries, for instance “Duct Fitting Database“.
