This element can be found in system elements bar. - this is the surge arrester’s icon. To open element properties window user should click twice on the element. General properties tab is shown in ( Figure 4.2 ). EA-PSM has a library, where user can choose one of the predifined surge arrester models ( Figure 4.2 ). Thus it is recommended to use this library or create and save surge arester model using „Modelling“ toolkit, in order to use it for the calculations. However, it is not necessary to save model to library.
In the tab “Advanced“ user can also specify or change parameters of the surge arrester without saving it to library. The required parameters for surge arrester can be found from the specifications of the equipment, which is usually provided by the manufacturer.
