In order to create PV Module model, user should select “Modelling” on the main menu bar and then “PV Module modelling”. The PV Module modelling window will appear as depicted in Figure 17.22.
In the window user can define “Manufacturer data”: PV Module model title and Manufacturer company title. Parameters that allows to specify electrical and physical parameters of the PV Module should be specified in “Model data” and “Module data” tabs. In “Model data” these parameters should be specified:
– nominal power rating of the PV module;
– open circuit voltage;
– short circuit current;
– maximum power voltage;
– maximum power current;
– normal operating cell temperature;
– temperature coefficient of short circuit current;
– temperature coefficient of open circuit voltage;
In “Module data” tab these parameters should be specified:
– number of parallelly connected PV cells in module;
– number of series connected PV cells in module;
– physical height of module;
– physical width of module;
– weight of module;
For each PV module user can define “Connection data”. This includes specification of “Cable length” and “Cable resistance”. Functionality is useful, when user wants to calculate photovoltaic power station with many PV modules having same cable connections between each module.
